Mother Goose Grandma Brag Book

You folks are probably getting tired of all my scrapbooks, but I am having fun!

I purchased Kathy Orta's book before Christmas and I finally got around to trying out her tutorials. This one holds over 25 pictures!  I made it up in only a couple of hours too.

I used Graphic 45 Mother Goose papers.  These were the scraps from my larger album posted here.  The cover is designed to show a couple of the Mother Goose stories combined together.  It's a bedtime story with the boy looking at the stars with the cow jumping over the moon all to give you a taste of what might be inside. Get it?

This is a close up of the chain with two little bead charms.

The book opens up to reveal all this space for pictures and a little journaling.

These are the journal books in the side pockets.
I think this would make a great gift as a grandma's brag book or for anyone who wants to display special pictures - just not the whole set.

You Stole My Heart!

There is someone in my life who stole my heart about 37 years ago and he still has it!  Yes, it is my dear hubby, Dave.  This card is for him.  Yes, I know it is a bit girly, but he likes the cards I make even when they have sparkle and flowers.

This one has lots of layers with the gorgeous Chanteuse Collection papers from Kaiser Craft.

Markers/Ink: Copics, Distress Vintage Photo

Graphic 45 Mother Goose - My Creative Spirit Tutorial

My new passion for 2014 is making mini-scrapbooks.  I confess I was tired of the older style of 12x12 books.  Each one of my children has an album from mom and I keep thinking I should finish the family album.  Discouraged by the time it takes to create just one page I turned to making cards and never looked back.

Last fall I took a class at my local scrapbook store and made my first mini which I posted here.  Since then I have found a wealth of great artists on the net and YouTube.  My two favs are Clare from My Creative Spirit and Kathy of Paper Phenomenon (hidden hinge binding system).  I have to mention these two lovely ladies because everything I create from this point forward will have been inspired by their techniques.  They are both worth checking out.

This album follows Clare's tutorial with a few of my own changes such as this cover.
This one was crazy to cut out and piece together.

Flap and pocket with lots of tags

Flap with place for two pictures

Belly band and tag

Envelop with several tags inside

Waterfall flaps for lots of pics

BoBunny Christmas Scrapbook Project

I made another scrapbook over the holidays and I used the BoBunny Silver and Gold collection of papers.  Just love these papers!! They mix well with brown and cream.

A simple cover with magnet closure.  I used gold Stickles to sparkle up the trees.
I always add a pocket to the inside front cover for tags and pictures.

I add lots of top and side flaps to add more space for pictures.

Belly band too!

This is one of two tag inserts that open with more space for pictures.

I also added a couple of tag pockets.

And extra flaps for journaling.

The back cover has a pocket too!

I have made a few scrapbooks now and starting to develop my own style.  This book however, is kind of modeled after the work of Clare from My Creative Spirit.

Recipe

Paper:  Bazzill Brown, BoBunny Silver and Gold
Markers/Ink: Distress Vintage Photo
Embellishments: Stickles, EK Success punch, Spellbinders dies, craft ribbon

I'll enter the album into the following challenges:
Hope you enjoyed this min-scrapbook project.
